FAREWELL TO NOVA SCOTIA

Dreams come true in Nova Scotia.

sunny 6 °C

Today is the day, In a few hours I am going back to Mexico. What I can say, I had the time of my life. I am sixteen years old (almost seventeen) and now thanks to this huge opportunity studying abroad in the place where dreams come true. I made friends from around the world : China, Japan, Turkey, Italy, Belgium, Thailand, South Korea, Spain, Germany, Colombia,France, Brazil, Canada, and even Mexico. What teenager can say that?! (isn´t it incredible?)I had expectations about Nova Scotia, and I got so much more than I expected.
Now I am not the same person, Nova Scotia changed me for good. I have grown. Nova Scotia is a place to grow, and if you take the chance to prove it, you wil see it.
Somewhere over the rainbow where the lighthouses are all around the province, where friendship last forever and where the world is in your classroom. Nova Scotia becomes more than an experience, it becomes part of your heart and your life.
I am so happy with my host family, I will miss them very much, not only for what awesome they are but how they made my experience the best, you will be with me like a handprint on my heart.
I got a better English, my pronuntiation is better
Now is the end of this story, the end of this experience, I am sitting in my bedroom for the last time, watching through my window the beauty of the snow like in the movies, and in my mind I have the picture of that little boy filled of dreams in his luggage who is going back to Mexico, not to home, because home is where the heart is. Nova Scotia you will always be my second home

Farewell Nova Scotia
The sea-bound coast
Let your mountains dark and dreary be
For when I am far away
On your briny ocean tossed
Will you ever heave a sigh
Or a wish for me?

Thanks Nova Scotia International Student Program, more than an incredible program, you are in my heart.

Good luck to you Manuel ! That was a beautifully written story, and poem at the end. It touched my heart because I was lucky to host a boy from Mexico last year. I hope your dreams come true !!
